Glossybox March 2015 ‘Step into Spring’

This month’s Glossybox comes with a ‘step into spring’ theme, and wow, its a goodie! I’ve only been a subscriber for 3 months now, but this box is the best one ive received so far! Its a really well balanced box, it has a little mixture of everything, which is great, as I don’t like when a box is too skincare or makeup heavy.

I was really pleased to see a full size skincare item with the Naobay Moisturisng Peeling which is a lovely gentle facial peeling milk, that smells amazing and fruity. I’ve yet to try this on my face but it feels very gentle with tiny little scrubby particles and is derived from mostly natural ingredients. The packaging is beaautful too, cant wait to give this one a go.

Next came a mini shampoo and conditioner from the Dove Advanced Hair Series Youthful Vitality range. I was really impressed that both products came in the box as it can be annoying when receiving a sample of one without the other. At 50ml sizes they will be great for travel, and a decent amount of product to work out whether or not it will work for me. These are targeted towards ‘ageing hair’ but seeing as my hair is in an awful state at the moment, I’m willing to try anything!

Next up is the Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara, which I cant wait to try out. I’ve loved other Essence mascaras in the past so I have high hopes for this one. Yes the packaging is a bit ‘teenage’ like most of Essence’s range, but I really like how there is a textured bit on the lid which will help to grip the wand for a steady application. This promises to ‘create length and dramatic volume’ so I shall report back on if those claims are true when I try it out.

Another item included was the Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm. Now I’ll admit, when I saw this I was like ‘meh- sure I could pick that up in Tesco, nothing special, no wow factor’ but when I tried it I was really pleasantly surprised. It has a lovely light minty scent and a slanted bullet which gives easy application. It gives a sheer wash of a light berry colour and makes my lips look a lot fuller, and keeps them soft and moisturised. The packaging is a bit dull, but its a great product.

Finally the last product was the Emite Micronized Eye Shadow. I think the shade is called ‘Nect’ however when I did a quick google search I couldn’t find much about the brand in English, I think it may be a Polish company? Anyway this is a beautiful champagne shade which is buttery soft and really highly pigmented. I have yet to try this on the lid but it is supposed to be gentle enough for even sensitive eyes. Its a beautiful shade which will take you from day to night and suit most eye colours.

Overall I’m pretty pleased with this month’s offering from Glossybox. This box is valued at around €50 which is well above the cost price, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. Next month is a collectors edition featuring a full size Lord & Berry lip crayon, I’m already counting down the days that one!
