USA Haul Part 1- Sephora

I recently spent 4 days in New York City with my sister. Apart from sightseeing and stuffing our faces with the most amazing pizza slices I’d ever tasted, we did ALOT of shopping. I bought some nice clothes and accessories, but my most exciting pieces were of course- makeup! Any beauty lover knows that Sephora is the most amazing store ever (Oh how I wish it would come to Ireland!). We spent a lot of time and dollars in Sephora, so here are some of the bits I picked up!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Medium Brown-

My brows are desperately sparse due to years of overplucking, so I was dying to check out some of the Anastasia brow products. The famous ‘Brow Wiz’ pencil didn’t look too exciting to me, I already have something similar in my stash with the Soap & Glory Archery brow pencil, but the dip brow pomade really stood out as something a bit different. I swatched it on my hand in store and it lasted all day through numerous hand washes and I really had to work hard to scrub it off in the shower that night, so its definitely budge proof to say the least! This shade looks like a good match, I haven’t tried it out yet, but I have pretty high hopes for this one!

This little sponge with a big pricetag ($19 for a SPONGE-gulp) has been massively hyped in the blogosphere so I knew I needed to pick one up. I’ve tried the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge which is supposedly a more affordable dupe for this. I really liked it so if that’s anything to go by, this should be great. I’m looking forward to trying this with my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, as my usual brushes haven’t worked too well with it and I feel this sponge could be the perfect partner for it!

Glamglow Powermud Travel Size-

I’ve wanted to try the Glamglow masks for a while but they are eye wateringly expensive, so when I spotted this mini in the line of doom on the way to the checkouts, I popped it in my basket. (For anyone who hasn’t visited a Sephora, they have a ton of travel size makeup & skincare items on display while you’re in the queue which are impossible not to pick up!!) This little pot was $19 and I chose the Powermud version which looks like it would be good for my combination skin.

L’Occitane Amande Shower Oil Sample– This was a reward for earning 100 points, I chose it as I’ve heard a lot of hype about it online, and I love L’Occitane products in general!

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Sample– This was another sample given to me at the till, its a pretty decent size and will be good for travel.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit–  I’d seen a lot of people talking about this online, and this was sold out EVERYWHERE during our visit, which obviously made me want it more! I eventually got my hands on the last one on the shelf on the last day which I took as a sign from the makeup gods that I needed this product in my stash. I haven’t a clue how I’m even going to apply it, so I’ll need to sit down with a few You Tube tutorials before I give it a go!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette– This is truly the most beautiful makeup item that I own. It feels so luxurious- the packaging is gorgeous and the 3 powders are absolutely stunning with a wonderfully soft texture. They’re really finely milled, I think they’ll give a subtle slow to my skin. I’ve only swatched them so far and they feel amazing, so I cant wait to get them on my face!!

So that was just a quick rundown of all the bits I picked up in Sephora, expect some more in depth reviews of these products once I get to play around with them some more. Keep your eye on the blog for the next instalments of my USA Haul series including bits from the drugstore, Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret and more!
