Make Up For Ever Stop Shining+ Review

As a combination skin kinda gal prone to extreme shine on my T-zone, I’m always on the hunt for some decent matifying products that will keep me looking shine free, in a matte but not flat kind of way. While on the hunt, I stumbled across the Make Up For Ever Stop Shining + Matifying Gel. Used after moisturiser and before foundation, this claims to eliminate all traces of shine from the face, and boldly even claims that oily skins will no longer require powder when using it.

The clear gel has a soft light texture that is easily absorbed into skin, and is invisible under foundation. I use it on my T-zone and it definitely reduces oiliness and keeps shine at bay longer than if I’d used no primer at all. I like the simple packaging, the squeezy tube helps to dispense just the right amount of product needed, a little really goes a long way. Although it claims that you don’t need to powder, I still pair it with a setting powder like the Rimmel Stay Matte. Add in a decent setting spray and you can have a flawless, long lasting shine free finish. For me, the only slight negative is the price, its €19 for 15ml, which is a tad expensive for a small amount. However, it worked so well for me I’d definitely repurchase. You can buy online at or in the Make Up For Ever Store in Clarendon St, Dublin 2.
