Glossybox UK June 2015 ‘The Festival Edit’

It’s my favourite time of the month again, Glossybox time! I got the email saying that my box was dispatched last Saturday, yet it didn’t arrive until Friday, which was frustrating as I had to avoid a ton of spoilers online until then, meaning I stayed away from Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and WordPress for a few days! After last month’s mediocre box, and the April box which left me pretty disappointed, I didn’t know what to expect this month. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised!

I knew from last month’s spoiler that we would be receiving some Glossybox Flash Tattoos in this month’s edition, and I wasn’t too impressed at the idea. When they arrived I realised they aren’t too bad, there are a lot of cute designs that are meant to be worn around the wrist that I imagine would look cute with some bangles. However the ones with the Glossybox logo are just a bit naff- I can’t imagine anyone wearing those ones! They’re supposedly worth £6.50 (about €9) which is a bit ridiculous to me to be honest. I’m not someone who typically goes to festivals, but you never know, I might get some use out of these yet!

Next item I noticed was the Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss in the shade ‘Pretty in Hibiscus’ Now this is something I’ve wanted to try for ages, so I was really pleased to find it in my box! At first glance I thought I wouldn’t like the shade, as it was very bright coral with a ton of sparkles in the tube, however when applied to the lips the sparkle isn’t as noticeable, and the coral shade will be gorgeous for summer. It’s really comfortable to wear, feels soft on the lips and not sticky as you may expect. The formula glides on super smooth and lasts for a pretty long time, which is great. This is a firm thumbs up from me, and at €2.29 I’ll definitely be stocking up on a few more shades!

The next item is the MONU Spa Rosewood Reviving Mist, another product that I was delighted to find in my box. It’s a gorgeously scented refreshing mist designed to use as a pick me up to refresh the face or set makeup, which will come in handy in the summer heat (that’s if we ever get any good weather in Ireland!) It is beautifully scented of essential oils mixed with lemon and sandalwood, which I just love. The packaging is really nice too. I’ve already popped this in my handbag as its a great size to carry around. I think this 50ml bottle will last a pretty long time too. A full size 100ml bottle is €15 online, which makes this mini worth €7.50!

I also received a travel pack of Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes. This teeny pack of 10 wipes is perfect to take away on an overnight trip or carry in your handbag. I’m pleased that they’re fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin. I’ll definitely get some use out of these, and they do fit in well with the whole festival theme of the box, however I have to admit, they’re nothing too exciting, and I would’ve preferred another makeup item instead. These are valued at around €1.65 for the small pack.

Then finally, another item I’d known about from the spoiler email I received from Glossybox (every month I say I’m not going to read the spoilers- yet I always do!!) was the Kueshi Anti Cellulite Booster Lotion. This is a full size product worth €18.96 which is more than I paid for the whole box, which is fantastic! Now honestly I don’t know if I believe that a lotion can banish existing cellulite, but as someone who suffers with pretty bad cellulite, I’m willing to give it a go. It smells nice and light, and absorbs well into skin, so again I’m pretty pleased with this one too!

So there you have it, overall I’m delighted with this month’s Glossybox. It’s total value is around €40 which is really great! I also like how they’ve changed the product information leaflet from a small piece of card, to a nice large piece of glossy card with bright photos, it makes the whole experience come together a bit nicer in my opinion. I’ve decided I’m definitely going to go for another 3 month subscription, next month’s edition is a French themed box, which I’m really looking forward to, I can’t wait to see what comes in that one!

I liked it, yet other boxes people loved were ones I hated! Funny how it goes. I’m looking forward to the French box. I wish My Little Box would come to the irish market, that’s the one I wanna try the most x
