Essence XXXL Lipgloss Review

Oh Essence, how I love thee. Cheap as chips makeup which is mostly amazing quality, one of my favourite places to head to in Penneys is straight to the massive Essence stand for a look at whats new. I recently received the XXXL Shine lipgloss ‘Pretty in Hibiscus’ in my June Glossybox, and after first thinking, meh- looks a bit rubbish, I was pleasantly surprised and fell head over heels, fast! It’s a gorgeous coral shade, that is packed with glittery sparkle in the tube, however this doesn’t really transfer to full on sparkly lips, it just gives a beautiful shine effect. I wore this all weekend after I got it, and on my next visit to an Essence stand, I picked up the XXXL Nude edition in ‘Taste The Sweets’ a beautiful natural pink shade.

20150623_162048These lipglosses are amazing value at €2.29 each. The packaging is pretty, the slim transparent tube houses a sponge tip applicator which gives really quick easy application to the lips. They give a beautiful glossy finish, that applies evenly, but doesn’t leave a sticky residue, in fact, it just feels smooth and moisturising on the lips. The colour payoff is pretty good, and for me, they last pretty well throughout the day.

I love the light sweet fragrance of the gloss, its nice but not overpowering, and thankfully it doesn’t leave a taste behind like many others do. I like to apply these over lipsticks or wear them alone, they’re really versatile. I find these a lot better than many of the more expensive glosses I have in my collection, so I’d definitely recommend you pick one up on your next visit to the Essence stand!

Have you tried the XXXL lipgloss? What else should I pick up from Essence?
