Products I’ve Used Up #5

Here we go again, another Empties post! Lets take a look at some of the products that I’ve recently used up, shall we?

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara (Sample Size)

I got this mascara as a freebie in a magazine, I’ve always loved Benefit mascaras and this is no exception. It has a wonderful curved wand that helps create fantastic curled lashes. It gave a lovely effect, and didn’t clump, smudge or flake. It was really easy to remove too, which is great, as anyone who has tried Benefit’s They’re Real mascara will know its an almighty pain in the butt to try to get off! I really liked this one.

MAC Cosmetics Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in the shade ‘Medium Dark’

This is a really great powder, that mattifies the skin, while providing some light coverage and just giving an all round flawless finish. This shade is a tad dark for my skin tone, and works best when I’m tanned. I hated the packaging on this, so I’m delighted that MAC have updated the compact to a sturdier one with a mirror inside the lid now!

Repurchase? Yes, definitely

Rimmel Match Perfection Blush in the shade ‘Medium 003’

It’s unusual for me to finish a blush, I had this one for a really long time! It was initially a blush powder with 3 different shades that swirled together to make a lovely pink flush when applied on the cheeks. At first I adored it and thought it was like a cheaper dupe for Benefit’s Hervana Blush, but as I hit pan and the colours started to crumble, it applied so sheer on the skin that it wasn’t worth a curse. I used it all up purely because I was applying layer upon layer to make any sort of colour appear on the skin! Wasn’t a big fan of the packaging either.

Repurchase? No, I think it has since been discontinued.

Benefit Cosmetics Stay, Don’t Stray Eyelid Primer

I really liked this product, it was a beige coloured cream that could be used as a base for eyeshadow and concealer. It worked really well at prolonging the wear time of my eyeshadow. I wasn’t mad on the pump applicator as it dispensed far too much product, however now I think they’ve changed the packaging after a lot of customer feedback. Unfortunately for me, I had this product for about 18 months, and the last 1/3 of the tube separated and was gone off, smelly and oily when I tried to use it, which is a pity.

Repurchase? Maybe

Avon Supershock Max Mascara

I think I got this as a magazine freebie a really long time ago, it definitely sat unopened in my drawer for about a year before I whipped it out! It has a colossal wand, with plastic bristles. I really liked the dramatic effect it gave to my lashes, and didn’t flake or smudge. Sadly, Avon is no longer available in Ireland.

Repurchase? No, due to no availability in Ireland.

Liz Earle Signature Foundation in the shade Ivory 002.

This is a somewhat pricey foundation, costing about €25 for 25ml of product (about 5ml less than your average foundation offering). I absolutely adored it though. It gave medium buildable coverage, that looked natural and felt light on the skin. It can be built up on problem areas, but never looks cakey. I loved the sleek packaging too. It was really long-lasting on skin, and my favourite aspect was that there is no SPF so it was great for occasion wear, as it looks fantastic in flash photography. This is an all round excellent base, I’m surprised it doesn’t get more hype online!

Repurchase? Definitely

Victoria’s Secret Love Spell Foaming Body Wash

You’ve seen from previous emptiesΒ that Love Spell is one of my all time favourite scents. I loved this product, particularly used as a shave gel, it worked really well, and my skin was left smooth and lightly fragranced.

Repurchase? Yes, if I take a trip back to the States, as sadly Victoria’s Secret is not available in Ireland.

Mitchum Advanced Unscented Anti-PerspirantΒ

I really liked this deodorant as it was fragrance free, so it didn’t interfere with my perfume. It didn’t leave any white marks, and kept me feeling fresh and dry. Thumbs up!

Repurchase? Yes

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Limited Edition Orange Flower & Chamomile

I’ve raved about Liz Earle products so many times on the blog, and I have a particular love for the Cleanse & Polish. This was a Limited Edition version that had the most amazing scent, I just adored it so much, I was sad when it ran out!

Repurchase? Always, its my holy grail cleanser.

So, that’s it for now! Although my recycle bin is fast filling up again, so I’m sure it won’t be too long until my next Empties post.
