If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I’ve had a long standing love affair with Liz Earle. I adore the Cleanse & Polish, its my holy grail cleanser, and I’ve loved almost everything that I’ve tried from the botanical powerhouse brand.
The Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion is something I’ve been meaning to try for a while, so when I got it as part of a gift with purchase offer, I was thrilled. I’ll be honest, I wasnt even entirely sure how to use it, I just knew I needed to try it! I suffer from puffy, tired eyes, and always have massive dark circles. I often arrive in work to my colleagues looking me in the eye and saying ‘oh dear you look awfully tired…’ so if anyone needed Eyebright, it was me! Basically, this miracle lotion is designed to wake up and revitalize eyes, with witch hazel, aloe vera and cornflower to help tone, cool and refresh tired, puffy eyes.
Does it work wonders? Well yes, yes it does! Most mornings I soak a cotton pad in the Eyebright lotion, and sweep it gently across my eyes, which leaves me feeling a lot more alert and refreshed than usual. It brightens my peepers and let’s be honest… removes all that gross eye gunk that builds up overnight…yuck. But the real trick with Eyebright is to soak two cotton pads in the lotion, pop one on each eye and lay back for 5 to 10 minutes, and relax. Then after a few minutes, you’ll have beautifully bright, fresh feeling peepers. I find that it definitely reduces my dark circles too.
This is also great to use after a long day in the office (or for me; sitting in front of the laptop blogging!) staring at a computer screen, a quick sweep cools and refreshes my eyes. Likewise, in the summertime, its great to sooth irritated eyes if you suffer from allergies or hay fever. If I have light eye makeup on, its also great for removing it too.
Basically, I can’t give enough praise to this product. Yes its a tad pricey at €17.25 for 125ml, but this bottle will last a really long time, so its well worth it. You can also order a mini sample size for €9.00 if you want to try it out.
