I know, I’m late to the party on this one, but here it is; my November Glossybox! I was away for the past week in Disneyland Paris (and we landed in Dublin airport last night to the news of the terror attacks unfolding. We are so glad to be home safe, and truly upset at the lives lost through senseless, horrific violence) This morning while going through my post, I was pleased to finally get to open my Glossybox. Lets take a closer look at the contents..
The first item I received was the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade ‘Pink in the Afternoon’. Now, I knew I’d be receiving this, as in last month’s edition they gave us the option to choose which shade we would like to receive. I chose this beautiful classic pink shade as I assumed it would be the perfect ‘your lips but better’ colour, and that’s exactly what it is. It’s such a soft creamy formula that applies so smoothly, and with one coat it gives a fantastic natural look, but it can also be built up with another layer or two for a more dramatic look, without looking cakey on the lips. I love the black and gold packaging too, it’s so glamorous looking. I’ve worn this today, and it feels so soft and hydrating on the lips, and the colour lasted a long time, even through eating and drinking. I’m really pleased with this item, and at only €10.69 from Boots its great value! They have such a huge range of shades available, I will definitely be going to check some more out!
The next item I spotted was the Emite Makeup Diamond Heart Primer. Now although Emite is not a brand that many Irish people would be too familiar with, we have received great products from the brand in both the March and August boxes this year, so I was pleased to see a new offering from them. This is a travel sized illuminating primer, and although I have yet to try it, when swatched on my hand it looks as if it will be really smoothing on the skin, and give a subtle illuminating effect. As I’ve mentioned, Emite is pretty hard to come by, but I’ve found this product on their website for €35, so effectively this 15ml sample is worth around €15. Not to shabby at all! I’m looking forward to putting this to the test!
Next up is another full-sized item; the Eyelure Natural Lashes. These look really nice, I’m sure they will give a nice subtle fuller lash look. Now, I’ll admit it, I’m fairly rubbish at applying false lashes, I’m not great with anything too fiddly, so these may take some practice to get right. However, I’m definitely going to give them a go, I think they’ll definitely come in handy with the festive party season just around the corner. I can’t find this exact version online, but the closest match that I’ve seen are €7.49 from Boots.
The next item in my box was the Royal Apothic Cream Creme Hydrating Body Cream in the Venetian Grove scent. Firstly, how gorgeous is the packaging? I love the vintage style of the design. Now, this is some seriously scented lotion, it wont appeal to everyone’s tastes. To me, it’s a pretty overpowering floral, powdery scent. A tad ‘granny-ish’ if I’m honest. However, when I tested the cream on my skin, it spread and absorbed so quickly and easily, and didn’t leave any kind of residue or stickiness to the skin. In fact, all it left was a beautiful soft, smooth feeling. So I’ll definitely continue to use this, although I may reserve it for night-time use, as the scent is so strong, I think it would interfere with any perfume that I’d wear. This is a generous 35ml travel sized tube, a full size being 240ml and costing $30 (sadly, I couldn’t find any Irish stockists)and my very poor mathematic skills inform me that this sample size is valued at around €9.
Finally, another full-sized item with the MUA Eyeshadow Palette in the shade ‘Undressed’. This is a first for me, receiving a full-sized eyeshadow palette in a Glossybox. I’ve tried MUA lipsticks and highlighters before, and been really impressed with the high quality products for such affordable prices. This palette is a great dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette, and upon swatching each of the shades, they seem to be of great quality. I’m going to put this to the test, and report back, as its so rare to find eyeshadow palettes in ‘drugstore’ brands. I’ve spotted this in my local Superdrug for around €6.
So that’s the lot for the November Glossybox! Overall, I’m really pleased with this month’s offering. I’ll definitely use each and every item in the box, and I’m actually really pleased that they’ve included some affordable producys that are from brands that are easily available to me, it makes a nice change from discovering new brands that are harder to find if I want to buy more products from the range. The total value of this box was around €50, so while it wasn’t the highest value box compared to some others, I was really impressed with all of the contents, which is all that matters to me!
The December box is going to be an exciting collaboration edition with blogger Really Ree! I really love her blog and YouTube channel, so I have high hopes for her box, which is going to be a Rose Gold collector’s edition. Can’t wait to get my hands on it already!
