I love books. I know e-readers and Kindles are all the rage, but I just love the feel and smell of a good, hardback book! I love having a shelf filled with books on display in my house, and there is nothing better than going over and picking one out, sitting with a cup of tea and diving in head first, becoming immersed in whatever subject is on the pages. Although I love fiction, at the moment, I’m loving books on beauty, humour and lifestyle topics. The Book Depository is one of my favourite websites to peruse, they always have great deals, and free shipping worldwide. While having a browse through the site this afternoon, I added a few titles to my wishlist.
Firstly, About Face is already on my Christmas list. Its written by Aisling McDermott (founder of Beaut.ie which is the blog that started my beauty obsession!) so I know it will be full of fantastic content, I cannot wait to read it! Then I think the Mug Cakes book would be a great gift or a stocking filler this Christmas, as its such a fun little idea, and perfect for someone like me, who loves cakes, but is also so lazy- I reckon making cakes in a mug in the microwave could be a new hobby for me! Then the two Hangover inspired books, which are also a great gift for anybody this Christmas, as it is traditionally a time when we all let our hair down and knock back a few tipples, so most adults will be able to relate to these humorous tales, both of which are based on the format of children’s books. Also, the Marie Kondo book on ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up’ has been so hyped online and on YouTube, I think it would be a really interesting read for someone like me, who lives in a very cluttered and pretty untidy environment! Maybe it could inspire me to declutter my house? Or it could just sit on a shelf unread adding to the clutter… who knows?! Finally, the Lonely Planet’s 500 Best Places On The Planet book would be great for anyone who loves travel, or like me, people who need some inspiration on where to visit next!
This post is not sponsored, I just really love checking out new books, and giving them as gifts for Christmas. I’ve found the Book Depository to be the cheapest website with the widest selection of books, so its definitely worth your while checking it out, to find all the above titles and more!
