Yaaay, it’s Glossybox day! As soon as I receive my dispatch email, I eagerly await the knock from my postman alerting me that my box of goodies has arrived! This month’s edit was something really special, a Rose Gold Edition in collaboration with beauty blogger Really Ree. I adore anything rose gold, and I’m a huge fan of both Really Ree’s blog and YouTube channel, so I was pretty excited to receive this month’s box!
Firstly, how beautiful is the box itself? It’s a white and rose gold box, complete with a sort of snowy design and little captions of ‘Let’s Celebrate!’ and ‘Let It Snow!’ written on the sides of the box. Inside is the prettiest pinky rose golden ribbon tied into a bow, and the little rose gold Glossybox emblems continue throughout the interior of the box!
I mentioned in my post on the NARS box, how much I loved the little booklet idea for the product information, instead of the usual piece of card, and they’ve included this again this month, so hopefully this is how they will do it from now on, as I think it adds to the experience, and I love all the gorgeous photographs and fantastic product details included on the leaflet.
Instead of the usual 5 items, this month we were treated to 6, as we received an extra bonus item which was fantastic. There is a really nice mixture of skincare and makeup items, and a variety of higher end and affordable brands, which is great! Let’s take a closer look at the contents individually, shall we?
The first item I discovered in my box was the Starskin Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Mask. This is billed as the festive bonus item, and I’m thrilled with it. I’ve really wanted to try one of these sheet masks for ages, so I can’t wait to test it out. It promises to be a saviour during the party season, hydrating and pepping up skin, so it sounds like it could work miracles for me on Sunday morning as I’m recovering from my Christmas party!! This version is firming and lifting formula, so it would probably be good for more mature skin types too. This is a single use sachet, which retails for €11.50 on its own.
Sticking with skincare, the next item was a 30ml sample size of the Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser. I’ve heard so many rave reviews of this cleanser before, so I’m really looking forward to trying it out. It is meant to be a deep cleaning yet hydrating formula, which sounds like it will suit my combination skin perfectly. This is a dinky little travel sized bottle, which should give me enough uses to indicate whether I want to buy a full size or not, and my research tells me that you can purchase a rather massive 720ml sized bottle for €46.50, so this is definitely in the more ‘high-end’ bracket.
The last skincare item in this month’s edit is the Etre Belle Golden Skin Caviar Roll On, which is a soothing and hydrating under eye gel. I’ve tested it out already, and the steel roll on ball is really nice and cooling under the eyes, so my peepers felt really refreshed after hours of staring at a laptop screen! It is a slightly sticky formula, but it absorbs really quickly which is great. I’ll definitely be popping this in my handbag for use throughout the day. I’m not sure if this is a travel size or full sized item, but this size retails for €19.95 on the Etre Belle website.
Next up is a makeup product from So Susan, a brand we’ve seen a few times before in Glossybox. I received their Highlighting Pencil in my October Box, and it has since become my favourite eyeliner to brighten the waterline. So I was pretty excited to see this full sized Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil included in this month’s box. I think this is the perfect product for the party season, its a beautiful champagne colour, and I love the shape of the product itself, as it will fit with precision in around the brow bone and cupids bow, as well as gliding along the cheekbones easily. I think it will add the perfect dewy glow to skin, I cannot wait to give it a whirl. I’m not sure if So Susan has any Irish stockists, but this retails for $24 on their US website. Does anyone know where So Susan is available in Ireland? Let me know in the comments below!
Next up is a lip product from one of my favourite budget brands, Essence! This is their Liquid Lipstick in the shade Show Off. Its an absolutely beautiful coral/pinky red shade, which if I’m honest, is something I probably wouldn’t have chosen myself, but upon swatching it, I’m definitely going to wear it to my Christmas party this weekend, as I think its a perfect party shade, for both summer and winter. This is a really nice glossy formula that gives the coverage of a lipstick, with the shine of a gloss. It comes in at a bargain price of €3.09, so if I fall in love with it, I’ll be sure to pick up more. I have Glossybox to thank for the discovery of my favourite lipgloss from Essence, so I’m hoping that they continue to bring us great products from this affordable brand!

The final item that I received this month is the KIKO Extra Sculpt Mascara which is another full sized item. KIKO is a brand that I’ve only recently become familiar with, but I’ve loved everything that I’ve tried so far, so I’m dying to give this one a go. It promises to give ultra curly, volumised lashes, which sounds like the perfect formula for me! Also, how funky is the packaging of the tube? Unfortunately, KIKO isn’t readily available in Ireland at the moment, here’s hoping that they set up stores on our shores sooner rather than later. This tube is valued at €8.90.
So that’s the lot, yet another fantastic edition from Glossybox! After a few mixed feelings on the contents earlier on this year, they seem to have gotten the formula bang on lately, and have really been knocking it out of the park for the past few months!
