Hi guys, sorry its been so long since I’ve posted, I’ve been so wrapped up in the whole festive season celebrations (ie-eating, drinking, and lying on the couch….) that time got away from me, and somehow I’ve gone a few weeks without blogging! Anyway, its all almost over now, and soon we’ll be back to work and the January blues will kick in! I thought I’d do a quick post on what I got for Christmas this year, as I love reading these kind of posts! I was very lucky to be spoiled by my friends and family, and received a lot of beautiful gifts this year. Lets take a look shall we?
If you’ve been reading my blog for some time now, you will know that I’m Disney obsessed! So of course, my family bought me some really nice Disney bits and bobs. I was so pleased to get some new Disney PJs & slippers to wear on Christmas Eve, and I’m over the moon with my new Disney makeup bag and shopping bag! Disney gifts are always a winner with me 🙂
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Soap & Glory set, so luckily Santa brought me their huge ‘The Whole She-Bang’ gift bag, which I was thrilled about! It contains all of Soap & Glory’s bestselling products, so I’m really pleased that I have some back ups of all my favourites! I’ve also never tried the new Righteous Butter Sunkissed Tint Body Lotion, so I’m pretty excited to give it a go, as its a shimmery wash off tanning lotion, so it should be perfect for nights out!
Anyone who knows me knows that I adore candles, so I was lucky to get a few different ones from different people. I got a Yankee Candle in the scent ‘fluffy towels’ which comes in a metal packaging unlike others I’ve seen from the brand before. Its such a nice light scent that will be lovely and fresh in my house. Next, I got a Max Benjamin candle in the scent ‘Grapefruit & Pomelo’ which is a lovely energetic citrus fragrance which will be a lovely summer scent! Finally I got the LoveOlli ‘Fly Away Home’ candle which is so beautiful, I just loved the packaging and it comes with a lovely pretty little box of pink matches inside. It’s such a gorgeous floral scented candle that I cannot wait to light!
I spotted this gorgeous grey marl blazer in Topshop a couple of months ago, but at the time I hadn’t got the cash to buy it. Luckily, my little sister very kindly picked it up for me as a gift. Its such a comfy relaxed fit blazer that really dresses up any outfit instantly. I’ve already worn it a couple of times and got tons of compliments on it. I know I’m going to get lots of wear from this one!
My sister also got me this gorgeous statement necklace from Penneys which I’m ecstatic about! Its so elegant and dresses up a plain outfit instantly. I also got loads of cute character design socks too!
As I’ve mentioned, I love Disney, so I was thrilled to receive the latest Pixar release, Inside Out, on DVD. Its such a nice family film that will entertain all ages! My boyfriend also got me the Ed Sheeran DVD, as we went to his concert this summer and it was such a great show, so I’m really pleased to be able to watch him perform all my favourite songs again! Then he also got me this gorgeous little mug, which is the perfect size for my morning cup of tea, and I adore the rainbow and rose gold design on it.
Sorry for the bad quality of this photo, it was really hard to capture! My boyfriend also picked me up these Adidas Originals tracksuit bottoms, which I’ve had my eye on for ages. I originally wanted the ladies version, but when I tried them on they weren’t a great fit (strangely baggy around the crotch area!) so I picked up a pair from the teenage boys section instead, which fit like a dream. I’m really looking forward to wearing these with my new black Nike trainers.
How cute is this cotton wool dispenser? Its a ceramic bunny shaped ornament, which you fill with cotton wool, and then the wool pops out from the bunny’s bottom, so it looks like his little fluffy tail! I thought it was hilarious, and so cute, so I can’t wait to display it on my dressing table.
I’ve had my eye on one of these drinks dispensers for the longest time, so I was thrilled when Santa brought me one! Its a cool mason jar style which a little plastic pump on the bottom to dispense the drinks. It also has a removable cylinder in the middle which you can fill with ice (which is great as the ice won’t melt and dilute your drink) or another one that you can fill with fruit to make fruit infused water. This will be great to make punch in summer when we’re having friends over! (Santa told me he picked this up in TK Maxx for anyone interested!)
I also got the newest book from Aisling McDermott ‘About Face’. Aisling was the original founder of Beaut.ie which was one of my favourite beauty blogs back in the day, and she wrote two books under the Beaut.ie umbrella, both of which were great reads. So when I heard that she was releasing a new title, I had to put it on my list. I cannot wait to dive into this book head first, I’m positive it will be a really great read!
Like most people my age, I love Harry Potter! So my boyfriend very kindly bought me this Harry Potter adult colouring book and colouring pencils. I’ve been looking forward to getting into the adult colouring book trend for a while, so this was a really great gift!
My mam got me this gorgeous ‘copper themed’ hamper which was such a great surprise! She knows I’m loving anything copper at the moment, so she picked me up some great bits and bobs to go inside it!
She knew I wanted to incorporate some copper into my Christmas tree, so she picked me up these amazing decorations in Arnotts to help me start off. I absolutely adore these, and definitely want to add to them for next Christmas!
You may recognise this copper travel mug from a previous Penneys haul, I sadly broke the original one that I bought, so I was really pleased to receive a replacement! Then my mam also picked me up this gorgeous little copper jewellery bowl, and lovely hanging heart wall design, which I think are both really nice.
She also got me these lovely little plaques to hang in my house. I think the black and white one is gorgeous and such a nice quote. Then the other one is a joke item, as my family always tease me about my messiness and how my dad often comes up to help me clean my house (yes, embarrassingly at 28, my dad still tidies up after me!) so it was perfect for me, and will look great in my kitchen!
Finally in my hamper, my mam also added an adult colouring book and some colouring pencils and markers. I’m really pleased I have some of these to do now, as it will be a nice little hobby to help me relax in the evenings.
The base of the hamper was this gorgeous copper basket and a lovely grey furry blanket inside. I’ve already used the basket in my living room to store all my books and magazines, and it looks so great on display. Then I have the furry blanket draped over my leather couch, which makes it feel so much warmer and cosy, I just love it!
My boyfriend surprised me with a box filled with all my favourite skincare items from Liz Earle! I’m especially pleased that he chose the Superskin moisturiser which is my ultimate favourite (but a little pricey so I’d held off on repurchasing it!) and I cannot wait to try the Liz Earle mascara. I’ll definitely use every single item here, so I’m thrilled with this gift!
I am such a chocoholic I was gifted a lot of sweeties from my friends and family this year! I think this insane stash of chocolate shall last me well into the new year, and should definitely send me into a sugar coma if I over indulge at all!
Finally, my boyfriend gives me an advent calendar every year. Its actually a wooden Disney calendar that I got in the Disney Store a few years ago, and you can fill up all the little drawers yourself. In previous years my boyfriend has filled it with sweets, trinkets and makeup items, but this year as a little joke he filled it with scratch cards for me! I was quite lucky and won €33 and a bundle of free tickets that I have yet to claim. If you’re Irish, you will know that as a nation we have a little obsession with gifting people lottery tickets and scratch cards, so I was pretty happy with receiving these! I also got a ticket for the special New Years Millionaire Raffle, so here’s hoping I win big on that one eh?!
Alongside all these beautiful gifts, I was very kindly given money from my parents and my auntie to buy myself some nice bits and bobs in the sales. I also got a few bottles of wine (which I’ve clearly drank already-oops!) and my boyfriend bought me a Light Box for taking blogging photos, which I haven’t tried out yet, but I think will be a great way to help me improve my blog in 2016.
So there you have it, my Christmas haul. What did you guys get for Christmas? Let me know in the comments below!
