I love shopping, really I do. It’s my favourite pastime. So when an opportunity to grab a bargain arises, boy will I grab it with both hands! As I mentioned in my Christmas Presents post, I was very lucky to receive some money as part of my Christmas gifts, so I decided to hit the sales and spend it!
First stop, Topshop, where I knew I wanted to pick up some new jeans. Usually I buy my jeans in New Look, but I wanted to treat myself to a slightly better quality pair, and I remembered that I used to love Topshop jeans. So with the help of my little sister (who works in Topshop and very kindly lets me use her staff discount!) I picked up two pairs of Jamie jeans. I chose a black pair as I actually don’t own any black jeans and I think they will be perfect for evening wear, and also a dark denim pair too. These are high waisted, but they dont come up too high like some others that I’ve tried, but its great to know I won’t be flashing my belly or butt crack while wearing them! (seriously, sooo over low rise jeans!) They also are ‘ankle grazers’ so they don’t bunch up around your ankles, which suits me perfectly. They are really comfortable to wear, so I’m really pleased with my purchases! These were not in the sale, and cost €55 each.
Next up I hit the sale rail, and found this gorgeous khaki cardigan. I loved the soft knit material, and it has little pockets on the side which I really like. I don’t have anything else in my wardrobe in this colour and I love how the design of darker flecks looks against the lighter green. It’s a really great length, and will look good with my black jeans and boots! This was reduced from €43 to only €15- bargain or what?
Next up I spotted this gorgeous delicate oatmeal coloured soft knit top. Seriously, the material is so soft and light, and its extremely comfortable to wear. It is a lovely long loose knit sweater, with slightly more length at the back, and a V-neck detail. I picked this up in a smaller size than usual, and it fits perfectly, so if you spot this in the sale, you may be able to size down, as its quite loose fitting. I think this will go with my dark denim jeans in winter, and I think I may even be able to wear it with white jeans in springtime! This was reduced from €50 to only €25.
Lastly in Topshop I picked up this burgundy cami top. I thought it would go well with my new black jeans and the grey blazer I got for Christmas. I had to pick this up in a size larger than usual as there were none left in my size, but I think it should fit well, I may just need to wear a nice lace bralet underneath in case it shows! I have another one of these in a different colour that I picked up a few months ago, and I love wearing it, so I’m pleased to add another one to my collection. This was €20, which I think is good value for a top that I’m sure I will get a lot of wear out of!
Next up, I headed to Penneys (which is the Irish name for Primark!) and I was actually very restrained. I initially went in to pick up some bits and bobs for my dad’s birthday, but I picked up this cute Disney top for myself while there. Its a really nice greyish-blue colour and I love the vintage Mickey Mouse logo on it. I think this will look really nice with jeans and converse, and it was a complete bargain at only €8.
This could definitely be seen as TMI, but sure we all know I can be prone to oversharing every now and again, so why not show you my new pants?! These cute slogan knickers were all reduced from €3 to €1 each so I had to snap them up, I love the Disney and Friends designs!
I’ve mentioned a couple of times before about my love for all things copper, so when I spotted this gorgeous frame in Paperchase, I could not leave it behind. It reminded me of some I’d seen from Oliver Bonas, where the photo is placed in the centre of the glass, so I cannot wait to pop a nice picture into it. I really like how it is on a little stand, it will look gorgeous displayed on my cabinet in my living room. This was another great bargain, reduced from €17 to €8.50!
Finally, I popped into Dunnes Stores and picked this lovely burgundy cardigan up from their sale rail. Its another great long length knit, and its really soft and comfortable to wear. It doesn’t have any buttons, it just sits loose and I think it looks great with a grey tee and skinny jeans. I’m not sure of the original price, but I snagged this for €10 in the sale!
So overall, I’m really pleased with all my bargains from the January sales! Have you picked up anything nice in the sales? Let me know in the comments below!
