Glossybox UK February 2016 ‘Beauty Soulmates’

Yay, the February Glossybox is finally here! Annoyingly, my box was dispatched last Friday, but didn’t arrive until yesterday (Friday) so it took a whole week, and it’s not fun trying to avoid spoilers all week when tons of subscribers got theirs on Monday, grr!

Anyway, this month Glossybox are aiming to introduce subscribers to their ‘beauty soulmates’ by including 5 products that they feel could be your perfect match. This month’s box has such a beautiful design, the ‘Love is in the Air’ heart shaped balloons are so pretty, this is definitely a box you’ll want to keep out on display. Inside, were 4 full sized items, and one very deluxe size (almost full sized item!) which I was very excited about!

The first item I spotted was a rather large box containing the Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor. Now, a razor may seem like a random enough item, but I was really pleased with it. If I remember correctly, I received a Wilkinson Sword razor in last February’s edition too, and it was really great. I’ve never tried one of these kind of razors, the ones that have the built in soap cartridge, so I’m looking forward to testing it out. This retails for €10 in Boots, so its a fairly decent addition!

Up next, a brand we’re fairly familiar with at this stage, Naobay and the Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner. I’ve really liked all the other Naobay products that Glossybox have sent me before, so I have high hopes for this one. Firstly, it smells amazing, it has a sort of aloe vera scent to it. It’s made of 99% natural ingredients, which is a bonus. It’s a 3 minute mask that promises to leave hair soft, silky and easy to manage. This is a 200ml tube, the full size is only marginally larger at 250ml and valued at €15.

Another addition was the Vintage Cosmetic Company’s Floral Slanted Tweezers. Now, I have a slight obsession with plucking eyebrows, I’m one of those strange people who gets pleasure from tweezing out hairs, so this is a great product for me! They look and feel great, I love the floral design. These are valued at €11.

On to the makeup items. We knew we would be getting the MUA Power Pout Glaze Low Voltage Gloss, as we were offered a choice of shades a couple of months ago. I chose the shade ‘Rapture’ which is a brownish nude colour, it feels thick when first applied but smooths out to feel soft and comfortable on the lips. I’m not overly keen on the brush dispenser, its one of those ones that you twist up until the product comes out the top. This is valued at €4.50, which is a great price for such a good quality product.

The final item included was the Nicka K 24hour Waterproof Eyeliner, in the shade ‘Dark Brown.’ I really like to wear brown eyeliner for a softer look, so I was pleased to receive this. I love the packaging, and the twist up motion is great, as I’m so lazy when it comes to sharpening pencils! It also has a little sponge to blend out the liner for a smokey eye look. This is a really great addition, which is valued at €5.

Swatches: Nicka K Eyeliner, MUA lipgloss

You may also remember last month I received an item in my Glossybox which I’d been sent a few months previously. To apologise for this I was sent a 5ml bottle of the Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum, which promises to increase luminosity, and has a whole host of age-fighting benefits. At 28, anti-aging isn’t massively on my radar right now, but I shall try this out nonetheless!

So overall, I was really pleased with this month’s Glossybox. There were a great mix of items included, all of which I’ll definitely use! The total value of all the items adds up to around €45, which although isn’t as highly valued as other editions have been, it still outweighs its €15 price tag, which is great.
