A Little Sephora Haul :)

I love Sephora so much, as do most makeup junkies. Sadly, it still hasn’t arrived on Irish stores, so when my boyfriend recently traveled to New York on a business trip, I sent him off with a teeny little list of must haves! He only had a small window of time for shopping, so I just asked him to bring me back 2 items, though he very kindly picked up 2 little surprises for me (he too was sucked in by the aisle of doom on route to the till) So here’s a little round up of what I got….

I knew he would be a bit lost wandering around the massive Sephora store in Times Square, so I kept it simple by just asking him to pick me up two items, the Becca ‘Champagne Pop’ highlighter by Jaclyn Hill, and a Sephora Z-Palette. He said he was completely overwhelmed when he walked in and ran straight to the sales assistant for help! He picked up my requests then popped a couple of extras into the basket before the checkout, which was a great surprise!

So I’ve wanted to try the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder in ‘Champagne Pop’ ever since I first saw Jaclyn’s video announcing the launch last summer. Since then I’ve seen nothing but hype online about it, as its meant to be the most amazing highlight ever. I’d heard that it was the most amazing highlight that works on all skin tones, giving a gorgeous natural glow. When I swatched it, I was amazed at how insanely pigmented it was, as well as being so soft and creamy feeling, for a powder. I haven’t worn this yet, but I cant wait to get it on my face, and report back once I try it out!

This was initially a limited edition release, but Becca have recently announced that it is part of the permanent line. I think it may now be available in Space NK stores in the UK, but as I’ve not yet been to the Space NK store in Dublin, I’m not sure if Becca is stocked there!

The only other thing I asked for was a Sephora Z Palette, specifically the ‘Baby Z’Β version as it was only $10, but seemed like a really good size. So when he arrived home with it I was so surprised at how big it is for a ‘baby’ palette! I like the black and white Sephora design, and it comes with lots of little magnets and a little spatula included to help depot shadows into. Since subscribing to Glossybox, I’ve found I have gathered up a lot of single eye-shadows, and I also have some palettes in my collection that have tons of empty pans mixed with full ones, so I’ve already depotted tons of shadows, blushes, bronzers and highlight powders into it. Now, I won’t lie, it was a stressful process, and we had a few casualties along the way, but I’m really pleased now that I have a place to store lots of my products all together. If you’d like to see a blogpost on my full Z-Palette, let me know in the comments!

Next, was a surprise item: The Original Make Up Eraser! I’d seen tons of videos on this online, but didn’t think it was available in Ireland, so I never went on to buy it. So I was pleasantly surprised that himself went and bought it. He said it caught his eye as he thought it would be perfect for drunken lazy nights when I don’t feel like doing my full cleansing routine and just want to get my makeup off as fast as possible. Basically, its a special cloth (not sure of the science behind it) that lets you remove a full face of makeup with just the cloth and water, no need for cleansers, oils or creams… This sounds super interesting to me, so I need to put it to the test ASAP and report back! Here’s hoping it works out to be as amazing as it sounds πŸ™‚

The final item was another one that he picked up on the aisle of doom beside the checkouts, a travel size bottle of the Urban Decay b6 Vitamin Infused Complexion Prep Spray. I’m really excited to try this, as I’ve used both the All Nighter and De-Slick sprays from Urban Decay before, but this one is a little different as it is meant to be used within your skincare regime to absorb oil, minimise pores and reduce redness, all of which are skin concerns that I suffer from! I’ve read online that some people use it as a primer spray before makeup, so I’ll definitely try it out that way too. I’m looking forward to using it, and I’ll definitely report back here with my findings. If you have any tips on using this spray, let me know in the comments below!

So that’s the lot from my Sephora haul! I’m looking forward to getting to grips with all my new bits and bobs, especially the Champagne Pop! Have you tried any of these items? Let me know in the comments below!
