In my recent Sephora Haul post, I mentioned that I’d got my hands on The Original Make Up Eraser. I couldn’t wait to try it out, I mean, a towel that removes a full face of slap with just water… how can that work, seriously?
Well ladies, I don’t know how it works, but it definitely does work! The ‘Eraser’ itself is a reusable pink cloth, that feels super soft and almost fleecy to the touch. To use, I filled my sink with warm water, immersed the cloth in it, and got to work. I wrung out the cloth and then rubbed it over my face, and my makeup just began to disappear before my eyes. With each swipe of the cloth across my skin, my makeup just melted away in an instant. Now, I won’t lie, I had to rub a little bit harder on my eye area to remove my mascara, but nothing worse than I usually would with a muslin cloth when using my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. It feels so different than using a regular cloth, as obviously there is no added cleanser involved, but it also feels a lot more dry to use on the face, as in I’m not slopping a soaking wet piece of muslin all around my mush, rather just a soft cloth that feels kind and gentle on the skin. It didn’t take long to remove a whole face of slap, and walking away from the sink, my skin felt comfortably dry, not dripping with water as usual, but not dry and tight either. Well, as Goldilocks says, it was ‘just right.’
So obviously I had to do the face wipe test after, as I could not believe how clean my skin looked, but right enough, I swished a wipe all around every inch of my face, and not even the teeniest bit of residue was present. Crazy or what?
Now, I don’t know the science behind it, but I know I love it. Apparently one side of the cloth is for cleansing and the other exfoliates, but I didn’t see a noticeable difference when I used it. Yes, its hella pricey at €24 in Boots, but I think it will save a lot of money in the long run. If you usually spend €5 per pack of 30 face wipes, and use 2 or 3 wipes each night to remove your makeup… well I’m rubbish at maths, but I know you’ll save cash in the long run! I don’t wear makeup everyday, so I wouldn’t use this all the time, but for when I’m feeling super lazy or need a quick method of removing makeup, this will be my first choice.
