You guys will all be aware by now of how much I love to shop. On a recent trip to my local shopping centre to pick up some groceries and some dry shampoo, I got sucked in as usual and picked up a lot more than I was supposed to! Let’s take a peek….
Firstly, I spotted this playsuit in Penneys (aka Primark) and fell in love. I’ve never had a playsuit before, but I thought this would be perfect to wear with flip flops on holidays in summer. I love the design, and the zip detail and the drawstring at the waist. I hope it looks as nice on me as it does on the hanger! This was €8.
I also picked up these little sandals in Penneys. They’re made from a suede style material, and I like the chocolate brown colour and the little plait and tassel design. The straps come up around the ankle, and they feel pretty comfy on. These were €8.
Also from Penneys, was this notebook. I didn’t buy this myself, my boyfriend got it as a gift for me. I love the funny ‘more issues than Vogue’ caption, and the black and gold colour is perfect. I plan on using this to write all my blog ideas in this! I think this was around €3.
Finally from Penneys was this check shirt. I really like the terracotta colour, and it’s made from such lovely soft material. It’s also a really good length, and feels so comfy to wear. I love the gold buttons and pocket detailing. The best part? It was reduced to €5 in the sale!
Next, I popped into New Look, where they had an offer for 25% off footwear. I thought these black flip flops would be nice to wear with the black and cream trousers that I bought recently in River Island for summertime. They feel comfy on, and were a complete bargain at €7!
Next, the main reason I visited Superdrug was to pick up some Batiste dry shampoo. The reason there are 2 photos above is because I had to make 2 visits to the store as I got the last 2 cans on my first visit, the shelf was almost wiped clean! Superdrug were selling Batiste at 50% off, so the I picked up the Original and Tropical versions for €1.75, and the Brunette version was €2.45, which was a great deal! I usually reserve the Brunette version for when my hair needs a pick me up for volume or a refresh in the mornings, whereas I use the Tropical & Original when I’m having a particularly greasy hair day, and I apply them the night before to absorb overnight. This works really well for me, and I don’t mind going to bed with white hair!
I’d recently received one of these Wilkinson Sword Intuition razors in my February Glossybox, and really enjoyed using it. The built in soap block makes it so much easier to shave legs and underarms, and I preferred them to my usual choice of razor. So when I spotted this one was on offer for €4.30, I snapped it up to have as a back up!
You may have seen my recent post about my spotty skin, well it has seemed to calm a little, but I still wanted to find some kind of spot saviour for when the next one rears its ugly head. Superdrug had a buy one get one free offer on all skincare, so I thought I’d try the Superdrug own brand Deep Action, and their Anti-Blemish Gel. This was €3.45, and so was the 2 in 1 Detoxifying Cream Wash & Mask so I picked it up too. I don’t see it as a replacement for my beloved Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, but I’m gonna try it as a mask or to use on any breakouts on my back and chest. I shall report back with my findings!
You guys will have seen me ramble on about various versions of the Carex Fun Edition handwashes, I just love the different fun scents, but this Cola Bottles one is my favourite. It has the most delicious sweet smell, and this was on offer for €1.30 so I got one to have as a back up.
I’d been hearing a lot of hype about the L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay range, which is aimed at people who’s hair needs a little re-balancing, like me. I suffer from oily roots and dry ends, so I’m hoping this will help my hair last an extra day or so between washes. I got the Shampoo and Conditioner on offer in Dunnes Stores for €2.90 each for the larger 400ml bottle, and the Extraordinary Clay pre-wash mask was around €4 on offer. Let me know if you’d like to see me do a full review of the range once I test it out!
Also on offer in Dunnes Stores were some other Elvive products, so I also picked up the Extraordinary Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, as I’ve used them in the past and really liked them. These were also €2.90 each. A girl can never have to many shampoo and conditioners as back ups!
Finally, I didn’t buy these, but I thought I’d include them here anyway. I won a little gift set on Instagram from Sam McCauley’s pharmacy, featuring these nail goodies from SoSu by Suzanne Jackson. Suzanne is an Irish blogger (So Sue Me) who has become really successful and launched her own cosmetics range in the last year. I received 3 of her nail polish removers in the scents ‘Blueberry & Pomegranate’, ‘Lemon & Lime’ and ‘Raspberry & Grape’, and 3 polishes in the shades ‘Nude Freak’, ‘Death by Chocolate’ and a lovely sparkly red that must have been a Christmas edition called ‘Rudolf’s Mistress’. I really like the design of the nail polish bottles, they look really high end. I’m going to try these out over the weekend, so if you’d like to read a full review of these So Su products do let me know!
So that’s the lot! Have you been shopping lately? What have you picked up? Let me know in the comments below!
