Ooh, I’ve been feeling spendy. And boy have I been acting spendy! You guys will know the drill by now, I’m a shopaholic, and when I want something, I go out and buy it! Here are some of my most recent purchases….
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my excitement when I heard the Benefit ‘Cheekathon’ palette was being released. This cute collection contains 5 full sized powders featuring a mixture of the brands bestselling blushers and bronzers. I’ve been dying to try Rockateur and Dallas for the longest time, I’ve recently finished up a Hoola bronzer (LOVE it) and am close to hitting pan on my current Dandelion and Coralista powders. So for me, this is a great investment, and perfect for travel. This retails for €64 and is exclusive (in Ireland) to the Benefit Boutique in Dublin. However, it is also sold in House of Fraser in the UK, so I purchased it online for £44.50. The best part? When you spend over £50 on their website, you get £10 off and free shipping to Ireland. So I popped a MAC lipstick into my basket, that I’ve been lusting after for a while, and got the whole kit and kaboodle for the grand total of €64, so essentially… the shipping and lippie came free, in comparison to getting just the palette in the Benefit boutique! The offer is still running with House of Fraser, so now’s the time to splurge!
Here it is, the lippie I essentially got for free. Yup, I’ve had Brave by MAC on my list for ages, so I was pleased to finally get my hands on it. It’s a sort of Kylie Jenner shade, one of those kinda nude ‘your lips but better’ colours. It’s a ‘Satin’ finish which is somewhat semi matte when applied. I’ve only quickly tested it out, and so far so good. I need to find a good lip liner to pair with it, preferably an affordable one, so if anyone knows any ‘drugstore’ lip liners to go well with Brave, please let me know in the comments below!
I’d mentioned these babies in a previous wishlist, so when payday rolled around, I rushed out to buy them! These are the Nike Air Max Thea trainers in this gorgeous lilac colour, and seriously, it’s true love! Yes, they’re a tad pricey, but they’re so comfy, and the photo doesn’t even do them justice… the lilac colour is so pretty, and I think they will look gorgeous paired with skinny jeans and a simple white t-shirt for spring & summer. These cost €113 but my sister kindly used her student discount to get me 10% off, so they cost a me a bit less at €102.
Sticking with footwear, I’d previously mentioned that I wanted to buy some gorgeous black heels in Topshop, but when I checked them out in the shop, I felt the heel was a teeny bit too high, so I searched until I found these alternatives in New Look. I love the simple strappy design, and the fact that they are not too high. I’ve worn these once, and I won’t lie; they were excruciatingly painful… so they may remain for ‘car to bar’ nights, and not clubbing. They were a bargain at €28.
This one is a somewhat random item, but I picked up this little Soap & Glory makeup bag on the clearance rack in my local Boots store. I’d actually spotted this previously, but didn’t want to pay full price for it, so when it was reduced to €4, I picked it up, thinking it would be good for carrying makeup brushes when I travel. Since I brought it home, it has become a pencil case for my markers and colouring pencil to go with my adult colouring books that I got for Christmas 🙂 It’s surprisingly roomy, which is great!
Next up is possibly my favourite item from the whole haul, my Zara floral bomber jacket! I also posted about this on Instagram when I spotted it in the shop, as I was unsure whether to buy it, but I’m so glad that I did! I really like the pink and black together, along with the floral design. It’s made from a really lightweight material, and I think it could work as part of a dressy outfit, with a cami top, skinny jeans and heels, or dressed down with a t-shirt and my trainers. It was more than I’d usually spend at €49.95, but I think I’ll get a lot of wear from it!
Yup, I bought two jackets in the space of 15 minutes! Next stop was my favourite haunt, Penneys (Primark) where I saw this gorgeous white blazer. I love the relaxed loose fit, and the ruffled sleeve design. I think it will be perfect to wear in spring and summer, over a dress or nice top and jeans when I’m heading out. This was a complete bargain at €23!
Someone once left me a comment on a haul post before, saying she noticed that whenever I go shopping, I always pick up something Disney. Well, it wouldn’t be a haul without some Disney, and here’s my latest find! I love these Mickey and Minnie flip flops, they’re just so cute! They’ll be perfect for wearing in and out of the pool when I go swimming each week, or for my summer holidays. They were a complete bargain at €3!
Finally, a bargain purchase from Primark, was this light knit top. You’ve seen me pick up several of these tops in previous hauls, its basically become my new go to work uniform! I love the long sleeve with button detail and the little pockets, they are so comfy to wear, and are a really nice length to wear with leggings. This was on the sale rail for €3. Bargainous eh?
So that’s the lot. I’d like to say I’m on a spending ban for the forseeable future, but I can’t really promise anything. Problems of being a shopaholic eh?! Have you picked up anything nice recently? Let me know in the comments below!
