I’m supposed to be on a spending ban… but then payday rolled around and I just needed some treats. So I picked up a few makeup, beauty and random items on a very quick little spree in my local shopping centre. So I thought I’d compile a haul post to share my goodies with you, and maybe, just maybe, this will be the last haul post for a while. We’ll see eh? 😉
First stop, Boots, with the intention of picking up an affordable lip liner to go with my new MAC lippie in the shade Brave. Well, I found one, the Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner in the shade ‘East End Snob’ which is a great match for Brave. I like how it comes in a plastic, twist up tube, so no need to sharpen it. It goes on really smoothly and once its on, it stays on! This was a bargain at €5.49. Then, while browsing the Rimmel stand, I spotted this new launch from the Kate Moss collection, the Sculpting Palette, in the shade #002. It’s a lovely little trio that contains a really nice peachy pink blush, a nice cool toned bronzer, and a gorgeous soft shimmery highlight powder. Now, each of these powders contains some shimmer, so for me, the bronzer is definitely not to be used as a contour shade, but I think it will be really great for travel as its a nice little compact that contains everything you need! I got this at an introductory price of €6.99, though I think it is now €8.99 in Boots.
Next up is the Triple Action Mascara from Floramar. Now, I didn’t buy this, I actually won it in a giveaway on Twitter. I’ve yet to try it out, but I really like the gorgeous gold packaging! I’m intrigued as to how this works, as it has 3 functions, a lengthening, curling and volumising effect, with a twisting mechanism on the wand that changes with each click, so for example if you want lengthening effects, use the wand as it is. For curling, twist the lid once, for volumising; twist twice! I’ve never tried anything like this before so I can’t wait to give it a go. It’s also enhanced with Argan and Olive oil which means it will be nourishing for the lashes. I’m not sure where Floramar is stocked in Ireland, I’m assuming its in pharmacies throughout the country, so if anyone knows any stockists in Dublin, please let me know in the comments section!
Lastly, in terms of makeup, are these nail polishes from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line. Again, I won these in a competition over on Instagram from Sam MacCauleys, and I was really pleased to receive them. These are supposedly loaded with benefits such a chip resistance, strengthening and gel finish all in one bottle! I’ve yet to give them a go, but I’m looking forward to trialing them out and reporting back! These cost around €6-€9 depending on where you shop.
Shades as above L-R: Luna Pearl, You Glow Girl, New Flame, Hat’s Off To Hue.
Next stop, River Island! I spotted this kimono from outside the shop and ran straight in knowing I had to have it. My family and friends have admitted that they’re not too keen on it, but I just love it so much. I love the floral print and the colours are different to what I’d usually wear in summer. Its a relaxed fit, with nice wide sleeves, and I love the slit up the back. It’s a longer length than other kimonos that I own, but I love that about it. I think it’ll look great over a vest top and shorts with sandals in the summer, or even worn with jeans and flip flops. I’m dying for summer to arrive so I can pop this on, and I think it will be perfect over a plain navy dress when I’m on holiday in Spain. This was €45, you can check it out here.
This one is actually a repurchase, my gold tone double coin necklace! I first bought one of these about 2 years ago, and wore it to death, so its beginning to look worn and tarnished. So when I spotted that they still sell them in store, I picked another one up. I wear this with everything, I just love the simple design and slim chain, it goes with all my outfits, from casual to dressy. And it’s a complete bargain at €8. You can check it out here.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a haul without some bits from Penneys (aka Primark!) I just popped in to pick up some bras (left them out of the photos as nobody needs to see those) and on the way to the till I spotted these cute copper fairy lights. Now, I don’t need to emphasize how much I love copper, most of the accessories in my living room are copper effect, so I grabbed these without a second thought. Honestly, I’m not even entirely sure where I’ll put these, but I really love the look of them, and they’re battery powered too, which I prefer, as they don’t need to be placed beside a plug socket. These were great value at €6.
Finally, also from Penneys, I spotted this gorgeous copper and glass storage box. It would be perfect for storing little items of jewellery or makeup, and is a really simple, yet beautiful design. I love the little chain detail on the side! For me, I’m going to use it to put all my tea lights into in my living room, as I have more candle holders than I should admit to, and I thought this would be a nice little way to store them. This was also a bargain at €6. Penneys have so much copper effect homeware bits and pieces at the moment, which is great!
So, that’s my lot! I’m going to have to try and refrain from shopping too much for the next while, as I’m saving for my holiday in Spain, and also a trip to America later this year, along with some weekends away and summer weddings. So, I want to know, have you been shopping lately? Let me know what you’ve been buying in the comments below, or leave a link to your haul posts so I can take a look!
