You are all aware that I’m a fiend for shopping. Every time I do a haul post I swear it’ll be the last, I’ll go on a spending ban…blah blah blah. I never do, I can’t stick to it, I am addicted to spending. This time around, I decided that I needed a few bits and bobs for my holidays (I’m going to Spain in July) and then well, I got a bit carried away and bought some items that I didn’t really need. Luckily, my mam and auntie also treated me to a couple of things so technically it wasn’t all my fault. Anyway, let’s get into it shall we?
First stop, BooHoo.com, a site I’d never bought anything from before. But when I heard they had a sale running, I thought I’d pick up a couple of items for my holiday, and things to wear in summer (in case Ireland actually does get this heat wave that we’ve been promised!)
As there was a sale going on, I picked up this paisley shift dress for a bargainous €10. On the website the model was wearing a lovely long silver pendant with it, so I think I’ll go and buy one as it looked great, and I plan on just wearing it with some brown flip-flops that I bought in Penneys. I’m not sure whether to pop a belt around the middle or not, I’ll need to try it out and see which looks best!
You can find it on BooHoo here. (Although it is now back to full price)
I went for another shift dress, this time I chose this pinky peach and black casual cap sleeved dress. Apologies for the creases, I haven’t gotten around to doing any ironing as I’ve been off work sick this week and have barely left bed. But anyway, this was another bargain at €10 in the sale, I think it will look great paired with my black flip-flops from New Look.
Next up, I picked up this cropped ribbed racer vest and ruched side maxi skirt. I really liked the look of the skirt as I don’t own any maxi skirts, and I like the ruched detail at the side and the slit up the side. On the BooHoo site it was paired with a cute crop top, but sadly they had sold out of the exact style, so I picked the racer front style vest instead. They go pretty well together, but I may look for another crop top to wear with the skirt to dress it up a bit. The vest was €8 and the skirt €11, both of which come in a variety of colours.
I have to say, I was pretty impressed with my first experience ordering from BooHoo. At first there were some issues placing my order, but once I tweeted them, they got back straight away and sorted it for me (despite it being 11pm on a Sunday night!) and the order arrived to me on the Tuesday afternoon which was fantastic. They also offer free delivery to Ireland over €35. For the price, I’m pleased with the quality of the items, and I’ll definitely be ordering from them again!
Next up, Penneys (which is the Irish name for Primark) and as some readers have mentioned before, it wouldn’t be a haul post on Just My Look without some Disney pieces included! My mam and my auntie very kindly picked me up these t-shirts, and I love them. They’re slightly cropped, and have the drop armhole design, which means they will be great over a bikini on holidays paired with some shorts. These were in the sale section for the great price of only €3 each!
Next up, my mam also picked these up for me. Every time I go away, I love to have brand new pjs, so she chose this lovely polka dot vest and shorts set for me. They’re lovely soft lightweight material, and I love baby blue, so they’re perfect for me. She found these in the sale section for €2!
Sticking with pyjamas, I spotted these in Penneys and had to have them. I have a little teacup Yorkie called Bella, and to say she is the love of my life is an understatement. She’s my bestest little pal, so when I spotted these pyjamas it was like they were made just for me! They are so comfy, I went a size up so the t-shirt is loose and comfortable to wear, and the shorts aren’t too short (nobody wants the kind that give you a wedgie while you’re asleep eh?) These were €6 for the set.
Finally from Primark, I picked up these navy cropped leggings. Ireland was going through a mini heat wave at the time (sadly, it’s back to lashing rain today) and I chose these to wear to work with a long t-shirt. They were only €4. I wore them the following day, and they’re ok, but honestly you’d have to make sure to wear a pretty long tee with them, as they’re fairly see through, and I’m sure nobody wants to see my Minnie Mouse knickers peeking through every time I bend over. So although they were cheap, I’d recommend heading to Forever 21 instead, their leggings are also around the €4 or €5 mark, and are much better quality and not as transparent!
Sticking with buying things for my holiday, I popped into The Works, a shop in my local shopping centre, in the hope of picking up some cheap beach reads. I tend to go through a pile of magazines and several books when I’m on a sun holiday, so I picked up these 3 books as they seem to be easy reads. The shop had an offer of 3 books for €8, so they didn’t break the bank, and if I don’t like them I’m sure I will find someone to pass them onto in the hotel. Have you read any of these titles? Let me know in the comments below!
Next up, I popped to Superdrug for the essentials. I picked up two tins of my trusty Batiste Dry Shampoo in the brunette version, as they were on half price offer for €2.45 each. Then, you’ll know I’ve expressed my love for the Carex hand washes numerous times now, so when I spotted the Cola Bottles scent for €1.30 I popped one into my basket. Finally, a compressed deodorant is perfect for my holidays as its travel friendly, so I picked up the Sure invisible version for €1.35.
And here is where my makeup spending ban was broken. I have a ridiculous amount of foundations in my stash, but when I saw these newbies on the L’Oreal stand, I had to have them! This is the L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation, and I’ve heard so much hype about it from US bloggers, that I had to buy it now that it has finally launched in Ireland. This was on special at an introductory price of €13.75 (it will be priced at €21.99 from 1st June) so of course I had to get it. Then all L’Oreal items were buy one get one half price, so I picked up the Glam Bronze Cushion De Soleil bronzer, as it’s something different that I can’t wait to try. With the discount this came to €6.88, so really it wasn’t too bad was it?
*Adds these to the massive pile of bronzers and foundations and hangs head in shame*
As I’m off work sick, I haven’t been wearing makeup, but once I give these a go I will definitely report back!
Finally, I didn’t buy this one, but I won it in a giveaway from the lovely Laura at Ruby Hearts Blog. She was doing a Twitter competition to win this Brush Egg Cleaner and I was very lucky to win it. Basically its a little silicone egg, which has a space to slot onto your fingers, and grooves and ridges on one side to swirl your brush into when washing it so it can effectively give it a really quick deep clean. I plan on using this later on tonight to give all my brushes a deep clean, so I’ll definitely do a blog post with my findings once I check it out!
So that’s the lot, a rather large mixed haul! If there is anything that I’ve mentioned that you’d like more information on, or an in-depth blog post please let me know in the comments below! Have you been on any spending sprees lately? Let me know what you’ve picked up on your latest hauls!
