Products I’m Currently Using: Bodycare!

If you’re a regular reader of my blog then you’ll be aware that I tend to post lot of product reviews, and favourites, rave reviews about products I’m loving etc. But I thought it would be interesting to share some of the products that are in my current rotation, where I picked them up, and what are my thoughts on them (before they reach my Empties posts!) Let’s delve right in shall we?

First up; it’s hands, feet and teeth! You may remember I got the Swiss Smile Whitening Toothpaste in a previous Glossybox, well I’ve been using it for the past few weeks and I’m really enjoying it! It doesn’t have an awful taste like some of the other whitening formulas that I’ve tried in the past, it actually tastes quite pleasant, and leaves my breath fresh and teeth pretty clean. I’m not sure if I’m imagining it or not, but my teeth do appear a bit whiter and brighter too! I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase this one though, as it’s extremely pricey €36 for a 75ml tube!

For hands, I’ve mainly been using the Liz Earle Hand Repair (I say mainly, as I have a variety of handcreams dotted throughout the house and in different handbags!) I keep this pump bottle beside my bed, and use it morning and evening. It has the most amazing fragrance, as it’s full of gorgeous essential oils, and feels nourishing and hydrating on my hands which is lovely. I think Liz Earle have changed up their hand creams recently, and I’m not sure you can get this exact one anymore, but I definitely want to try out some of their new scents when this one runs out!

My next bodycare essential is the Re-Gen Oil, which I picked up in Aldi for about €5, I think it’s their version of the ever popular Bio Oil. In a nutshell, I work with adults with very challenging behaviours due to Autism or other learning disabilities, and I’m constantly getting scratched on my arms and hands. It’s something that gets me down a lot, as I feel people are looking at scars and scabs on my body and wondering how I got them but obviously don’t want to ask. In a bid to reduce some of my scarring I’ve been using this oil nightly, and so far it is helping. The instructions on the bottle say I should be doing it three times daily, but I keep forgetting, so if I ramp it up a bit, I may see results quicker! (And despite always having scratches and bruises on my body, I do love my job really!)

Finally, down to my feet, where I’ve been using the Kueshi Foot Care Cream, which I got in a recent Birchbox. This stuff has the most amazing herbal scent which I LOVE, and its a really light lotion that absorbs in really quickly. I have noticed my feet feel a lot softer and smoother since I’ve begun using this, but realistically, I think I still need a decent pedicure to remove all the really gross hard skin on my heels. Yuck. In the meantime, I’ll continue slathering this on every evening!

These next items should come as no surprise if you’ve been reading my blog a lot lately, as I haven’t stopped harping on about the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash. I’ll keep it short and sweet here, this shower cream (along with the entire range) has the most amazing lime and kiwi sweet summer scent, it is gorgeous! I’m loving the Body Wash as it’s perfectly foamy, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry, and also comes in this gigantic bottle, which is lasting me ages!

Then also in the shower I’ve been enjoying using the Sugar Crush Body Scrub. Now lads, this stuff is simply spectacular. This is formulated with smashed brown sugar and lime, and it’s just so dreamy to use. It’s a wonderfully thick consistency, but it’s not abrasive at all, in fact the scrubby particles are nice and gentle on the skin. It leaves my skin feeling as smooth as silk after use too! As soon as I open this tub and start rubbing it onto my skin I am literally salivating in the shower with the delectable fragrance, it makes me crave key lime pie so bad! This stuff is the bees knees, I’d recommend it to everyone!

Finally, I’m not a lover of body butters and tend to neglect them, but I’m currently enjoying using the Sugar Crush Body Buttercream. It’s a lighter formula than a lot of other body butters I’ve tried, so it just glides onto the skin, and absorbs quickly. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, and not a tad sticky. The best bit? I keep sniffing my arm to smell the delicious fragrance all day long!!

Finally, we all know hair removal is in no way exciting or enjoyable, and in my eyes it’s just a chore I have to get on with. I got a Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor in my February Glossybox, and really liked it, so I went out and repurchased another one. (For the purpose of this post, I didn’t take a photo of the razor I’m currently using, as it’s a bit gross and is on the teetering edge of hitting the bin!) Basically, this razor is the kind with the built-in soap block, which I really like. There’s no faffing about with shave gels or anything, I just wet this under the shower head, and it glides up and down my legs with ease, giving a nice close shave. They last a really long time too, the one I’m currently using has been on the go for months at this stage, with plenty of regular use, and it’s only on the brink of going blunt now. So if you always cut yourself while shaving (I find the ankles are a place I always nick) then these razors are a good option!

So that’s the lot. Perhaps not too exciting for most, but when you’re a product junkie like myself, I get great joy from trying all kinds of new products! I’m planning on doing the same style of post with my current haircare & skincare products, so keep your eyes peeled for those!
