Ahhh, Empties posts. One of my favourites to read, as I love to see what products other beauty junkies have used up. When you have a collection as extensive as mine, it is not often that you get through makeup and beauty items, so when I do, I know it’s something that I must really have enjoyed. So as my empty product bin was overflowing, I thought it was about time I showed you guys my rubbish, before I tipped it into my recycling bin. So without further ado… let’s get stuck in!
L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Shampoo (2)
This shampoo sounded like it would be perfect for my hair, as it was created for those of us who are lucky to have both oily roots and dry ends. It was a nice smelling, light shampoo, which left my hair feeling squeaky clean and fresh. But it didnt really give me any extra days between washes, nor did it keep the grease at bay for any longer than a normal shampoo. It was a decent offering, and one I would buy again if it was on offer, but it didnt work any miracles.
Repurchase? Yes, if on offer.
L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Conditioner (2)
Again, this was decent enough. It was a lovely scented, light conditioner that didn’t weigh down my hair. It left my tresses feeling soft and hydrated, but again, it wasn’t creating miracle results, it was just nice enough, nothing to shout from the rooftops about.
Repurchase? Yes, if on offer.
L’Oreal Elvive Extraaordinary Clay Masque Pre Shampoo Treatment
As it says in the name, this is a clay pre-shampoo mask, which is unlike any other product that I’d tried before. So before washing my hair, I scooped some handfuls of this cold green goop onto my head and massaged it into my roots, then walked around the house with a slimy looking head for a few minutes, letting it work its magic. It sets hard onto your hair, and will stain your skin with a greenish tinge, so I was left with grassy looking fingers and a nice greenish hue around my hairline, which required quite a lot of scrubbing to get off! After leaving it on for 5 minutes, you rinse it out then shampoo as normal. Did it work wonders? Ehh… not really. Honestly, I didn’t notice any major differences to my hair after using this, so it just became a bit of a useless faff in my routine.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Beautiful Brunette, Cherry, Fresh, Trpoical & Original scents.
You guys know that Batiste is my holy grail dry shampoo, as you can see- I go through tons of this stuff! My favourite version is the brunette one, as it is slightly tinted, so it suits my brown hair perfectly, as it won’t leave a white cast on my hair like the normal versions do. However, as you can see, I still buy the regular versions, as I like to apply a generous amount to my hair before bed, then sleep on it, before brushing it through the next morning, when it leaves my hair looking nice and fresh. So, it saves me washing my hair daily, and revives second and third day old hair! It’s a definite lazy girls saviour.
Naobay Natural & Organic Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner (2)
This stuff is just amazeballs. I received a couple of tubes in previous Glossyboxes and it was such a great item to discover. It is a luxurious conditioner that has a mouth-watering citrussy/herbal scent, that left my hair feeling so silky smooth and soft. You only need the tiniest blob, so these tubes lasted me ages and ages. I’d highly recommend them if Naobay is available in your country. I’m not sure where the hell I can actually buy this stuff, so if anyone knows of any stockists please let me know!
Repurchase? Yes, if I can find it online somewhere!
Mystery Shampoo from Glossybox: Revealed as Head & Shoulders
I got this mini shampoo in the Estée Lalonde Glossybox. I can’t remember which version of Head & Shoulders this sample was revealed as, but it was nice enough. It has a nice scent, and left my hair clean and fresh. I don’t particularly suffer with dandruff, so I didn’t notice any difference in flake reduction. It was ok.
Aqua V Relax Me Herbal Bath Soak Lavender & Waterlily
This is Aldi’s own brand bath soak, and it was pleasant enough. It had a nice relaxing scent and provided plenty of bubbles, for a lovely soak. It was also super cheap, about 90 cent or something, so it was obviously worth the money. I got about 3 baths from this bottle, but I do tend to be quite liberal with the amount of liquid that I slosh into my tub, so you could possibly make it last longer if you use it a bit more sparingly.
Liz Earle Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash
Ahhh…. I loved this stuff. It felt so luxurious to use on the skin, and the scent was just divine. The only downside was the price: €17.25 for a 200ml bottle is a tad spendy for me at the moment. I’ve done a full review post here.
Repurchase? Yes, as a treat.
Original Source Extreme Tingle XXX Mint Hair & Body Wash
This stuff was rather strange. My boyfriend bought this for himself originally, but passed it on to me after having an unfortunate experience after using this on his erm, nether regions and feeling the full effects of the extreme tingle. So after his warning of ‘never use that down below- cos it nearly burned my balls off’ I approached with extreme caution and kept it to safe zones. It is super minty smelling, and it did almost burn my armpits right off when I used it… so if you like to feel super dee dooper fresh and tingly, go try this, but for me, I prefer a more soft and relaxed shower session.
Victoria’s Secret Love Spell Body Wash
I’ve professed my love for the Love Spell scent on here before, so I adored this body wash, which I picked up on a trip to the States last year. Unfortunately when I visited Vegas last October, I couldn’t find this anywhere, as they seem to have changed up all their bodycare and scent offerings. Boo hoo 😦
Repurchase? Hopefully it hasn’t been discontinued, and I will be able to get another version when the Victoria’s Secret store opens in Dublin soon!
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash
Oh, I love this stuff. It is the perfect summer scent- a gorgeous sweet lime fragrance, that smells good enough to eat. This 500ml bottle lasts forever, so it is a really great purchase. I don’t even need to harp on about it, you guys all know my obsession with Soap & Glory. I’ve done a full review here.
Repurchase? Yes, I already have.
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub
I’ve spoken about this before too, it is a simply spectacular scrub, perfect for smoothing your skin and getting rid of any rough bits or bumps. It has the same smell as the shower gel, and is truly a wonder product. Love it!!
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream
I’ve also spoken about this body butter (along with the scrub) in a post here. So as you can imagine, I was basically professing my love for it too. I’m not overly keen on body creams, they don’t excite me too much, but this one is lovely, and the amazing scent lingers on the skin all day.
Zoella Beauty Blissful Mistful Body Mist
I’ve blogged about this before, along with some other bits from the Zoella Beauty range, and this is the stand out product for me. It’s a gorgeous feminine scent, that’s fresh and floral. I like the bottle design, and the budget price is a bonus. I’m a big fan of a lot of Zoella’s product offerings, despite the fact that I’m probably a few years above her target market age range!
Repurchase? Yes, I already have.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black & White mini rollerballs.
I got these miniature rollerballs in a fragrance sampler set from Sephora quite a while ago. To me, the Black version is slightly more masculine and a more nighttime fragrance to the white. The white is more powdery, slightly musky and feminine. I’ve done a full review of the Nirvana White here. These are only available in Sephora in The States, so they aren’t easily accessible to me here in Ireland.
Repurchase? Black: maybe in rollerball form. White: Yes, I already have 2 bottles in my stockpile!
Yves Saint Laurent Elle Perfume
Another fragrance love, I originally got this as a gift a few years ago, then continued to repurchase it time after time. Again, it’s a somewhat fruity feminine scent, with slightly woody notes to it. I love the bottle design too, so luxurious. I don’t see much hype about this anymore, nor have I spotted it on recent strolls through beauty halls, so I’m hoping it hasn’t been discontinued!
Repurchase? Yes, if it is still available.
Random Bits & Bobs
Rituals Tao Wai Wang Mild Exfoliating Body Scrub
I got this in a Birchbox last year, it was a nice mild scrub with teeny scrubby particles, that felt nice on the skin. The scent was subtle, and the squeezy tube was handy for the shower, without having to unscrew a big pot of scrubby goo. It was nice enough, but it didn’t blow me away.
Jack Wills Hope Cove Body Spray (2)
I got these in some Jack Wills gift sets a while ago, and I really liked the scent. It’s a nice light fresh scent, perfect for daily wear, as it is a fairly subtle fragrance. The only thing I will say is, it didn’t last too long, so I needed to reapply it pretty often.
Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor (2)
I’ve mentioned these razors numerous times on here, I find them so handy to keep my legs fuzz free, as they have a built-in soap block, which means no added shave gel is needed. They give a nice close shave, and are always on offer in Superdrug.
Mitchum Advanced Control 48hr Deodorant in Shower Fresh
This was a nice offering, with a decent scent that left my pits clean and dry all day.
Sure Motion Sense Invisible Aqua Deodorant
This was also a good deodorant, the compressed size means its handy to throw in your handbag for top ups throughout the day. It worked well, and did the trick anyway.
Carex Cola Bottles Handwash
I’ve gone through tons of these, I just adore the cola scent. I’ve raved about it on here before, as well as the Strawberry Laces version. This did the trick, and left my hands soft and smelling sweet.
Abbot & Broome Sweet Clementine & Grapefruit Handwash
I picked this up in Aldi, it’s a nicely scented handwash that did the trick. What more can I say really? Grand for the downstairs loo.
Chewitts Handwash in Strawberry
Another novelty soap, this one had a delicious strawberry sweeties fragrance, which I loved. Again, it was good at doing the job, and didn’t dry out my hands. Perfect.
So that’s the lot for now! I shall continue my empties with a round-up of the makeup and skincare products that I’ve used up later on in the week. Have you tried any of these products? What have you been using up lately? Let me know in the comments below!
