At this stage, my birthday feels like a distant memory. Almost a month has passed by now, and turning 30 has been fun and fabulous, and thankfully not as horrific as I had once thought! Anyway, if any of you know me, you’ll know I like things. That’s right, I enjoy presents. There I said it. I’ll never be one for cash or gift vouchers, I just love getting stuff! I know, I know, I’m meant to say that I enjoy giving presents as much as I do receiving… but anyway, let’s just say that I really loved all of the gifts I received for my milestone birthday. I was also extremely spoiled by family, colleagues and friends. I lost count of the number of lunches and meals out I was treated to, cakes that were produced with candles shining brightly, bottles of bubbly that were popped in honour of my 30 years on this planet, and all the lovely cards I was given. It was a brilliant birthday that I will never forget. Anyway, enough of the rambling, if you’re here, you most likely are interested at having a little nosey at some of the bits I got. I love reading posts like this, so I hope you do to. Let’s dive in!
First up, my main present from my boyfriend was the iPhone 7 Plus in rose gold. Oh my god, I LOVE this!! My old phone was a rather battered iPhone 5S that had taken an insane amount of knocks, so was in terrible shape. This new phone is like a dream to me. Yup, it’s pretty big, but its brilliant for keeping up to date on all my social media, and the camera quality is out of this world. I’m thrilled with it, such a great present! My little sister kindly picked me up this nice gold case for it. I’ve been loving snapping photos and keeping up to date on all my social media lately. Such a great phone!
I was also very lucky to get some beautiful flowers, a lot of nice sweet treats and an insane amount of alcohol. Seriously, those are only a few of the bottles of wine that I received, there were also a few more bottles of fizz, which were consumed rather quickly during all the celebrations!
The gang in work very kindly all clubbed together to give me this Disney bag full of goodies! There were also a lot of sweeties in the bag, along with these Disney bits for my upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. I love the pjs, as you can see from the photos, they have two-way sequins on them! The travel mug is a nod to my love for tea, and my love for Dublin, let’s just say, I often tease the girls in work who are from the countryside, so they supported my true Dub status with my new flask! They also very kindly all chipped in to give me some dollars to treat myself to something really nice while I’m in Florida. I’m really lucky to have some wonderful workmates, who are really great friends.
My sister got me the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette, and I was delighted with life altogether! I’d seen this palette online, and knew I had to have it, I mean how gorgeous are all those colours?! I haven’t got many similar shades in my current stash, so I’ve been getting plenty of use from this lately, and it is truly amazeballs. Love it! It’s great quality like all other Urban Decay shadows, so it’s definitely worth investing in. If you’d like a full review post, let me know in the comments!
My sister also got me all these great socks from Topshop. I love a good ole pair of Disney socks sure! A friend in work bought me this lovely pink scarf, and my mam got me this lovely cushion, which fits in with my favourite copper and grey home style! My sister also picked me up a gorgeous necklace from Topshop, but all the photos turned out dreadful. Trust me though, it was gorgeous!
My neighbours got me this beautiful rose gold bracelet. Its lovely and delicate, and has some little charms on it which I just adore. I’ve already worn it a few times and its so pretty, it really adds to an outfit. I know I will get so much wear from it, and I’ve already got so many compliments on it every time I’ve worn it!
Remember in the 90’s and early 2000’s when adidas tracksuits were all the rage, and we used to dress in head to toe baggy sports gear, thinking we looked gorgeous? Well, sports style is back with a bang and I’m only bleedin delighted with life. I love comfy tracksuits, so I was really happy with these bits. My mam got me the lovely navy hoodie, which is actually nice and slim fitting and flattering on, unlike the huge hoodies that swamped us back in our teen years. My boyfriend picked me up the sweats and the grey Originals top, and I love both of them. I’m 100% embracing the tracksuit trend, I love my trackies and trainers!
Sticking with clothes, my little sisters treated me to some new denim! I got these gorgeous Jamie jeans from Topshop. I love the colour of them, not too dark a wash but not too light either! They’re high-waisted and really comfy to wear, also they look super flattering on. I also got this denim skirt from Topshop, which I adore. I’ve been looking for a nice denim skirt for ages, but couldn’t find the perfect one. This is a great length, not too short, and will be great for my trip to Orlando, but also I hope to get a lot of wear from it in winter, wearing it with tights and boots. Chuffed with it!
A friend very kindly picked me up the much sought after rose tumbler from Primark, which I was so excited about. As a massive Disney fan, stuff like this makes me so happy! I’ve loved sipping water out of it every day. Another friend got my this lovely mug, it’s a bit of a cheeky message to me, as I’m ALWAYS late when I go to meet her, and I don’t do any exercise at all (apart from running to get places on time!) I’ve really enjoyed using this mug for my morning cuppa!
Some friends also treated me to this lovely beauty bits. I was really excited to receive the Molton Brown hand cream set, as I’ve never tried anything else from the brand before. I wash my hands so much in work that I go through tubes of hand cream like nobodies business, so these lovely lotions will be a nice treat! I also got this nice Soap & Glory set. Everyone knows Soap & Glory is my favourite brand, so I was really happy to receive this gift with all their bestsellers in travel sizes. I’ve popped them straight into my suitcase to use in Orlando!
Finally, my last ‘major present’ came from my best friends. The 4 of us went out for a night out to celebrate my milestone birthday, and they very kindly treated me to a 3 course meal with tons of champagne, before producing this gorgeous Michael Kors handbag. Well, my squeals were audible to the entire restaurant, I was really surprised and excited to get it! I absolutely adore it, the grey colour is perfect to wear all year round, and the compact size is great for everyday use, and nights out. It’s also surprisingly roomy inside, I can fit all the essentials into it, which is great. I plan on bringing it to Florida too, as I can wear it cross-body style, so it will be great for in the parks. Such an amazingly generous present, I am so in love with it!
So that’s the lot! My parents also kindly gifted me some dollars to buy myself something nice when I arrive to Florida, so I can’t wait to start shopping over there! I am so grateful for all my gifts, cakes, lunches and dinners out, cards and messages, and just time that people spent with me on my special day. In all honesty, I felt a bit weird about turning 30, such a monumental birthday had me feeling a little strange. I’m not sure why, perhaps I was concerned about getting old so fast, but I have to say, all those feelings evaporated once I celebrated with loved ones. It was a birthday that I’ll never forget!
